Weihua 400-ton Quenching Crane Delivered and Put into Operation

Recentemente, two complete sets of quenching cranes—with capacities of 400 toneladas e 150 toneladas, respectively—independently developed and manufactured by Weihua, were officially delivered to the client and put into operation on their heat treatment production line.

Among these, the 400-ton unit is currently the largest-capacity crane in China designed specifically for quenching operations. Junto, the two units will handle the entire lifting and transport process for heavy workpieces during quenching—a milestone for Weihua in delivering comprehensive, ultra-high-capacity lifting solutions for specialized metallurgical applications.

Integrated Thermal Protection Design

To address the challenge of long-term thermal radiation in furnace areas, Weihua equips its dual-crane systems with specialized, high-temperature-resistant cabling. The main girders house temperature-controlled electrical rooms, complemented by double-layered, heat-insulated operator cabs—a comprehensive design that effectively blocks heat from reaching critical electronic control units.

By mitigating the cumulative heat generated during synchronized crane operations, this multi-layered thermal insulation strategy prevents common high-temperature-related failures—such as cable degradation and signal instability—at the source, ensuring reliable, contínuo, and uninterrupted equipment performance.

Dual-hook coordination + new-generation PLC

The quenching process is highly sensitive to the timing of immersion; when using a dual-hook configuration, the operating speed must be dynamically matched to the specific load. The system is equipped with a state-of-the-art PLC-based centralized control unit. The main hoisting mechanism utilizes stator voltage-regulation speed control, allowing for precise coordination of the acceleration and deceleration curves for both the main and auxiliary hooks. This enables the system to reliably handle complex operational conditions—such as frequent starts and stops, varying loads, and high-speed lifting—ensuring rapid movement for heavy loads and stable, controlled handling for lighter ones. This effectively prevents workpiece oscillation, which could otherwise lead to uneven quenching microstructures or physical damage from collisions.
