Russia’s metallurgical industry serves as a core pillar of the national heavy industry, sustaining stable supply of steel products for domestic construction, manufacturing and export businesses. To adapt to growing market demand, local steel enterprises are continuously advancing production upgrading and equipment renovation, eliminating outdated handling equipment with low efficiency and insufficient load capacity.
A major Russian metallurgical plant faced operational bottlenecks from aging lifting equipment, which failed to meet intensive, high-load handling demands for steel ingots, coils and metal profiles. To optimize on-site logistics, improve operational efficiency and upgrade industrial safety standards, the plant introduced and officially received a customized 50-ton double-girder gantry crane. The equipment is specially engineered to adapt to harsh factory environments featuring extreme temperature changes, heavy dust and long-duration continuous operation.
The 50-ton heavy-duty gantry crane complies with international industrial machinery standards and Russian local industrial specifications. It adopts a robust double-girder structure and is customized to fit the actual layout and working conditions of the Russian steel plant. Its core technical parameters are as follows:
Tailored for the rigorous working conditions of metallurgical plants, this 50-ton gantry crane integrates structural optimization, safety upgrades and energy-saving design, delivering outstanding comprehensive performance:
After being delivered and put into operation at the Russian metallurgical plant, the 50-ton gantry crane has become core lifting equipment for the factory’s production and warehousing areas, covering all mainstream heavy-duty handling scenarios in steel production.
It is mainly used for the transshipment of steel ingots, raw steel billets, steel plates and finished steel coils between production workshops. In de tussentijd, it undertakes the loading and unloading of railway freight cars and industrial transport vehicles, greatly simplifying on-site logistics processes and accelerating the delivery efficiency of finished steel products.
In aanvulling, the crane supports the installation and dismantling of large-scale production equipment in workshops, as well as the handling of industrial waste materials. Its high positioning accuracy effectively avoids collision and extrusion damage to high-value steel materials, reducing production loss rates for the plant.
With the A6 high-intensity working grade, the crane adapts to the factory’s multi-shift continuous production mode. Since commissioning, the plant has achieved improved handling efficiency, reduced operational downtime and comprehensively upgraded on-site industrial safety levels, providing solid equipment support for stable and high-yield steel production.
The successful delivery and operation of the 50-ton gantry crane marks a key equipment upgrade for the Russian metallurgical plant. With reliable load-bearing performance, strong environmental adaptability, high safety and operational efficiency, the equipment solves the long-term heavy handling pain points of the steel production line. This project fully verifies the excellent applicability of heavy-duty gantry cranes in the metallurgical industry, providing a reliable equipment solution for the modernization and efficiency upgrade of Russian steel enterprises.
